Old Hickory District is hosting a joint spring camporee with Mecklenburg Council, Etowah District at Camp Belk!

WHAT IS A CAMPOREE?

A camporee is a local or regional gathering of Scouting units for a period of camping and common activities. It can be a perfect showplace for the Scouting program and therefore, go far beyond just being a gathering of Scouts.

A camporee starts with the recognition that a patrol is the basic camping unit. This event will utilize the Patrol method during all activities.  Over the course of the weekend, Scouts will be challenged to demonstrate their abilities in a variety of Scout skills.  Patrols will engage in friendly competition for a chance to win one of the Joint Camporee awards listed later in this guide.

The Old Hickory & Etowah Districts are teaming up for an unforgettable spring camporee: The Great Scout Game Show! From April 17–19, 2026, Scouts will head to Belk Scout Camp for a high-energy weekend packed with competition, teamwork, and fun.

Troops will go head-to-head in game-show-inspired challenges that test Scouting skills, problem-solving, and teamwork all wrapped in a lively, retro game show atmosphere. Whether you’re spinning for points, buzzing in with the right answer, or cheering on your patrol, this camporee promises excitement for every Scout.

WHAT IS THE COST FOR THE CAMPOREE?

The cost for all participants is $10 for registered youth and adults up to March 28th, 2026.  Late registration will be $12.50 for registered youth and adults and will close April 4th, 2026.  Any registrations after this date must be approved by the Camporee Chairman.
