GET READY...
Gold Rush District is hosting its spring camporee at Old Stone in Salisbury!
WHAT IS A CAMPOREE?
A camporee is a local or regional gathering of Scouting units for a period of camping and common activities. It can be a perfect showplace for the Scouting program and therefore, go far beyond just being a gathering of Scouts.
A camporee starts with the recognition that a patrol is the basic camping unit. This event will utilize the Patrol method during all activities. Over the course of the weekend, Scouts will be challenged to demonstrate their abilities in a variety of Scout skills. Patrols will engage in friendly competition for a chance to win one of the Gold Rush District awards listed later in this guide.
WHO CAN ATTEND THE CAMPOREE?
“Colonial America” is open to all registered members of Scouting America and Venture Crews in the Gold Rush District of the Central NC Council. All Troops are encouraged to attend and Scouts should be organized into patrols of six to eight youth (where possible). These Patrols will be the Scout teams competing and should be designated on the unit roster.
WHAT IS THE COST FOR THE CAMPOREE?
The cost for all participants is $25 for registered youth and adults up to April 13th, 2026. Late registration will be $27.50 for registered youth and adults and will close April 16th, 2026. Any registrations after this date must be approved by the Camporee Chairman.
